Özet Bu eser, modern okçuluğun temellerini hem teknik hem de tarihsel bir perspektifle ele alan kapsamlı bir kılavuzdur. Kitap, İngiliz uzun yayı (long-bow) başta olmak üzere; ok, kiriş ve koruyucu ekipmanların seçimi, bakımı ve kullanımına dair detaylı bilgiler sunmaktadır. Yazar W. Butt, Roger Ascham'ın klasikleşmiş "beş temel kuralı" olan duruş, ok yerleştirme (nocking), çekiş, tutuş ve bırakış tekniklerini bilimsel bir yaklaşımla ve pratik deneyimlerle harmanlayarak açıklamaktadır.
