It records the inner world of a Muslim prisoner-his emoti- ons, observations, and fractures accumulated during years of exile-captured as a voice rising from within. The bridge built through words between the prison walls carries the traces of confrontation and the construction of memory. This book gives voice to personal memories, friendships, long waits, and hope-preserved within the years that stood between the author and freedom.
